About the Hart Pioneer Centre
Our History
In the late 1970’s, a progressive senior’s group envisioned a social and recreational building that would meet the needs of the seniors in the Hart area. By 1985, their dream was fulfilled with the building of the Hart Pioneer Centre. It is the only Senior Centre in Prince George that is owned and maintained by its members.
Besides receiving a yearly grant from the provincial government, the Centre raises funds in a variety of ways including dances, Christmas Dinner, New Year’s Dance, Mother’s Day Tea, pancake breakfast, crib tournaments, roast beef dinners, weekly bingo and more. Some of these things were halted due to COVID restrictions but we are slowly building back up again so stay tuned.
The Centre is also available to rent to the community for many other functions throughout the year. Memorials / Celebration of Life events are free of charge to members and the public.
The centre operates with the assistance of many volunteers, kind donations from the local community and various fundraising activities.
